3. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files sent by a web server and stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone or other internet-connected device).
Cookies usually contain the name of the website they come from, how long they are stored on your device and a unique identifier.
Cookies do not usually contain information such as your name or email address. However, combined with other data, they may constitute personal data under the UK GDPR.
Cookies do not harm your device – they do not change its settings or install software.

4. Legal basis for using cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies in accordance with:
- regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) – which governs storing information, or gaining access to information stored, on your device,
- Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR (your consent) – for analytics, marketing and functional cookies,
- Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR (our legitimate interests) – for any personal data processed through cookies that are strictly necessary for the Website to work.
Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent, because they are essential to provide the service you have requested (regulation 6(4) of PECR).
All other cookies (analytics, marketing and functional) are used only after you have given your prior, informed and freely given consent through our cookie banner.

5. Types of cookies used on the Website

5.1 Strictly necessary cookies

Strictly necessary cookies make the basic functions of the Website work. Without them the Website cannot work properly.
We use them to:
- keep you signed in,
- remember the contents of your basket,
- process payments securely and prevent fraud,
- remember your cookie choices,
- make the order and sign-in forms work correctly.
They do not require your consent. They are set automatically and cannot be switched off without affecting how the Website works.

5.2 Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies collect information about how the Website is used so that we can improve it.
They may collect, for example:
- the number of visits to individual pages,
- traffic sources (how you arrived at the Website),
- time spent on pages,
- bounce rate,
- the devices and browsers used.
We use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), loaded through Google Tag Manager in Google Consent Mode. Until you consent, analytics cookies are not set.
We use them only with your prior consent.

5.3 Marketing cookies

Marketing cookies allow us to show you personalised advertising and content based on your interests.
They may be used to:
- track your activity on the Website and on other websites (remarketing),
- show you adverts for products you have viewed on the Website,
- measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
We may use advertising tools from third parties, such as:
- Google Ads (Google Ireland Limited),
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited),
- TikTok Pixel (TikTok Technology Limited).
If you consent to marketing cookies, after an order we may also show you an optional invitation to a Google Customer Reviews survey.
We use them only with your prior consent.

5.4 Functional cookies

Functional cookies and similar technologies remember the settings you have chosen and personalise the interface, for example:
- your preferred product grid layout,
- recently viewed products and categories you are interested in,

We use them only with your prior consent.

7. Third-party cookies

The Website may use cookies set by third parties (third-party cookies), which place cookies on your device through the Website.
We do not have full control over third-party cookies. Information about how these third parties process data can be found in their privacy policies:
- Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager): https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Meta (Facebook, Instagram): https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
- TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy

You can opt out of personalised Google advertising at: https://adssettings.google.com.
You can use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

8. How we ask for consent – the cookie banner

When you first visit the Website, you will see a cookie banner which lets you:
- accept all cookies (“Accept all” button),
- reject optional cookies (“Reject optional” button),
- choose individual categories of cookies (“Cookie settings” button).
Your consent to cookies is:
- freely given – you do not have to give it, and rejecting optional cookies is as easy as accepting them,
- prior – optional cookies are not set before you give consent,
- informed – we tell you about the purposes and categories of cookies,
- specific – you can consent separately to each category,
- unambiguous – you give it by a clear affirmative action (a click).
Not interacting with the banner (for example continuing to browse or scrolling) does not mean you consent to optional cookies.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking “Manage cookies” in the footer of the Website or the cookie icon.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.

9. Managing cookies in your browser

In addition to our cookie banner, you can manage cookies in your browser settings.
Most browsers accept cookies by default, but allow you to:
- block cookies completely,
- block some cookies (for example third-party cookies),
- delete cookies when you close the browser,
- delete selected cookies manually.

10. Other similar technologies

In addition to cookies, the Website may use other similar technologies:
- Local storage and session storage – browser features that store data on your device (for example your basket contents or display preferences). This data is not automatically sent to our server. Items stored this way are listed in the table in section 6.
- Tracking pixels (web beacons) – small, transparent images embedded in web pages or emails that allow activity to be measured (for example whether an email has been opened or a page visited).
- Browser fingerprinting – we do not use browser fingerprinting to track users.
The rules in this Cookie Policy, including the requirement for prior consent, apply to these technologies in the same way as to cookies (unless they are strictly necessary).

11. How long cookies are stored

Depending on how long they are stored, cookies are:
- Session cookies – stored on your device until you end your browser session (close your browser), and then deleted automatically.
- Persistent cookies – stored on your device for a set period (shown in the table in section 6) or until you delete them.
The storage period of each cookie is shown in the table in section 6.

12. What happens if you disable cookies

Restricting cookies may affect some features of the Website.
- Disabling strictly necessary cookies: may prevent you from using key features of the Website, such as signing in, adding products to your basket or placing orders.
- Disabling analytics cookies: does not affect how the Website works for you, but limits our ability to analyse and improve it.
- Disabling marketing cookies: does not affect how the Website works; you will still see adverts, but they will not be tailored to your interests.
- Disabling functional cookies: you may need to set your preferences again on each visit, and we will not show you recently viewed products.

13. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy, in particular to reflect:
- changes in the law on privacy and cookies,
- new tools or technologies on the Website,
- guidance from the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
The updated Cookie Policy will be published on the Website with the date from which it applies.
